Learn how to Upload and download files using File Manager in cPanel. cPanel organizes all the files in your account into folders. Use the File Manager interface to manage and edit your files.

Step-by-step tutorial – Upload files using File Manager – cPanel
- File Manager
Login to cPanel.
Tutorial: login from the Client Area or the direct link.
Find the Files section and click the File Manager link.
Navigate to the directory where you want to upload the file in the File Manager Current Folder section.
Click the Upload icon.
- File Upload page
Overwrite existing files
– Check this box if you want to overwrite a file on the server that has the same filename
Drop files here to start uploading
or
Click the Select File button.
- Navigate to the file’s location on your computer and click Open.
- The file uploads immediately showing the progress bar and uploaded bytes.
For each additional file that you want to upload, repeat steps 2 and 3.
After Upload, click the Go Back button.
- Your file is uploaded to the selected folder.
Step-by-step tutorial – Download file using File Manager – cPanel
- Locate the file you want to download.
Right-click on the item and select the Download option.
or
Select the item and click the Download button located in the Task Bar.
2. Navigate to the directory on your local device where you want to save the file.
Click the Save button.
