Transfer a Domain to Extilum as Registered User — Client Area

Learn How to Transfer a Domain to Extilum as Registered User using Client Area. A domain transfer is a process of changing your domain registration.

You can transfer your domain instantly if it satisfies the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers’ (ICANN) transfer conditions, which require you to have had your domain for at least 60 days. A domain transfer can take anywhere between five to 14 days to complete.

Steps You have to do before transfer:

  1. Update your contact information.
The registrar you’re leaving and we will need to contact you during the transfer process. So, your contact information must be up to date.
  2. Unlock your domain.
Look for the unlock domain option in your registrar’s control panel.
  3. Request an authorization code.
To transfer your domain, you’ll need an authorization code (also called an Auth-Code, Auth-Info Code, or EPP code).
This code is there to protect your domain from being transferred by an unauthorized party.
  4. Make sure your domain is eligible for a transfer.
Per ICANN rules, if you’ve created or transferred your domain name in the last 60 days, it’s not eligible for a transfer.
