Step-by-step tutorial – Create FTP Accounts in Client Area

  1. Login to Extilum Client Area

    You can log in to Your Client Area by going to this link.
    Once you have logged into your Client Area click the Services green button.

  2. My Products & Services

    In the My Products & Services table, find your hosting service and click the Manage button.

  3. FTP Accounts

    Scroll down the page until the Manage Account title, then choose the FTP Accounts button.
    You can also find the FTP Accounts link in the right menu in alphabetical order.

  4. Create FTP Account

    Click the +Create Account button.

  5. Create Account Window

    Login
    Type the name of the FTP user.
    The username will be the name you enter plus @domain 
    Domain 
    Choose the domain where you wish to create the FTP account by selecting it from the Domain drop-down menu
    Password 
    Type a password that will be used to authenticate this FTP account.
    Enter a secure password in the Password text box.
    Password must have at least 8 characters, must contain at least three character categories among the following:
    Uppercase characters (A-Z),
    Lowercase characters (a-z),
    Digits (0-9),
    Special characters (~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|(){}[]:;”‘<>,.?/)

    The system will evaluate the password that you enter on a scale of 100. A weak password has 0 value, while a very secure password has 100 value. Or you can click the Generate to let the system create a secure password for you. 
    Directory
    It will auto-populate an assumed directory based on the FTP username. 
    We recommend providing the directory you would like the user to access.
    If you erase everything and type a single “/”, the user will have access to your home directory (anything outside of the public_html folder).

    With this option, You can restrict access to a developer or an employee. You can determine the level of access for a user.
    The FTP user will not be able to navigate outside of the specified directory and subdirectories.
    Quota
    Type the amount of space you want to limit the account.
    or 
    Select Unlimited if you don’t want to limit the space for the account. 

    Click the Create button.
