Step-by-step tutorial – Edit a File Using File Manager – cPanel

  1. File Manager

    Login to cPanel.
    Tutorial: login from the Client Area or the direct link.

    Find the Files section and click the File Manager link.

  2. Edit file

    Select the file that you want to edit.
    Click the Edit button in the Task Bar.
    or 
    Right-click and select the Edit option in the drop-down menu.

  3. Edit Window

    Select the character set encoding that the file uses. The default is utf-8 (Unicode).
    Click the Edit button.

  4. Editor page

    File Editor page opens, ready for editing.
    When finished, click the Save Changes button.
    Click the Close button.
