Step-by-step tutorial – Change FTP account password – cPanel

  1. FTP Accounts

    Login to cPanel.
    Tutorial: login from the Client Area or the direct link.

    Find the Files section and click the FTP Account link.
    Scroll down to FTP Accounts section.
    Click the Change Password in the Actions column beside the FTP account that you want to change.

  2. Change Password

    Password 
    Type a new password that will be used to authenticate this FTP account.
    Enter a secure password in the Password text box.
    Enter a secure password in the text box.
    Password must have at least 8 characters, must contain at least three character categories among the following:
    Uppercase characters (A-Z),
    Lowercase characters (a-z),
    Digits (0-9),
    Special characters (~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|(){}[]:;”‘<>,.?/)
    The system will evaluate the password that you enter on a scale of 100. A weak password has 0 value, while a very secure password has 100 value. Or you can click the Password Generator to let the system create a secure password for you. 

    Password (Again)
    Retype the password from above.

    Click the Change Password button.

  3. Wait for the success message.
