Change Password – cPanel

Learn How to Change password in cPanel. It lets you log in to cPanel, MySQL, SSH, and your primary FTP account. It’s best practice to change the password when you first get your hosting account and periodically afterward.

Step-by-step tutorial – Change Password – cPanel

  1. Password & Security

    Login to cPanel.
    Tutorial: login from the Client Area or from the direct link.

    In the drop-down menu under Your Username at the Top Bar, choose Password & security.

    OR
    Find the Preferences section and click the Password & security link.

  3. Change Password

    Old Password
    — type your current password.
    New Password
    — type the new password that you want.
    Enter a secure password in the text box.
    Password must have at least 8 characters, must contain at least three character categories among the following:
    Uppercase characters (A-Z),
    Lowercase characters (a-z),
    Digits (0-9),
    Special characters (~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|(){}[]:;”‘<>,.?/)

    The system will evaluate the password that you enter on a scale of 100. A weak password has 0 value, while a very secure password has 100 value. Or you can click Password Generator to let the system create a secure password for you. 
    New Password (Again)
    – retype the new password.
    Click the Change your password now! button.

    Be careful, You will be logout of cPanel.
