Learn How to Download Partial Backups in cPanel. Partial backup files store individual sections of your account. To download a specific item, click the desired items. This method downloads the backup file as a .gz file to your computer.

Step-by-step tutorial – Download Partial Backups – cPanel

  1. Backup

    Login to cPanel.
    Tutorial: login from the Client Area or the direct link.

    Find the Files section and click the Backup link.

  2. Partial Backups

    Options to download:
    Home Directory Backup
     This includes your ‘public_html’ folder (where all of your website files live) and the ‘Mail’ directory (where POP and IMAP users store their emails.
    MySQL Database Backup
     The MySQL databases are associated with your account.
    Email Forwarders Backup  
     A record of the configuration for all email forwarders/aliases created for a given domain.
    Email Filters Backup
     A record of the Account Level email filters created per domain. 
    The Email Filters backup files only store the domain account-level email filters from the /etc/vfilters/$domain file. The backup file does not store user account-level email filters.

    To download the backup, click the link of your chosen Partial Backup.
    The download will start to your local Downloads folder.
